Bracebridge Fire Department

Spring of ‘08 I enjoyed a walk around the falls in Bracebridge & when I was returning to my car I came across this scene – I could of spent hours in there, but of course I was already in a hurry from my leisure walk on this warm day.
-Proud to have it used for the Bracebridge Fire Departments web page. Check it out:

Winterfest 2011

I have always enjoyed curling, being active & social with a good group of people - to bad I haven't done it since high school...
Anyways, another challenging shoot for the Winterfest games. I could not stay in one spot for too long as I would start to melt the delicate pebble surface of the ice that helps the rock curl when thrown. I had pieces of carpet under my knees & I would try my best to keep pace, panning with the participants. All in all some great images came from this outing, so come back for more!

This is what you will first see as you walk through the front doors of 212 Fine Foods. There is comfortable seating available to the left with floor to ceiling windows to view the day & people watch.

212 Fine Foods

I was asked a few weeks ago to take some interior/exterior images of our newest eating establishment in town; 212 Fine Foods - http://www.212finefoods.ca/.
Another great challenge to take on & I was excited to use multiple strobes to create bright, vibrant & dynamic (& yes Chris – hopefully sexy) images.
This first shot shows the exterior of the building with temporary signage they were using before the more detailed carved pieces arrived. First off – notice the very large flower pot in the foreground? I had it balanced on the delicate wrought iron railing to try to get some desperately needed foreground interest. If that pot had tipped over... – ...what a mess!
I had two strobes set up to help with this image. Both lights were set up in umbrellas & the windy day kept catching them both almost knocking the one over into oncoming traffic. Strobe camera right was to help make the foreground flowers & signage pop (1/2 power) while the second strobe was camera left about 8 ft away & way up high pointed at the building the mounted sign (full power).
Had great fun with the challenge of this shoot – I would like to do more interior work.
Actual interior images to come soon... in the mean time you can go straight to: http://www.212finefoods.ca/ to see the rest of my images. (note – the saturation seems to have been amped up slightly from what I have...)

Jennifer & Bill

I photographed Jen & Bill's wedding a few years back now, the summer of 2008 - A very nice, easy going & photogenic couple.
I have only photographed a couple of weddings a season for the last few years & I now have a dozen or so under my belt. I have learned so much valuable information from each of them.
More to come so please stay tuned!

Winterfest 2011

Last winter I was hired on by the Winterfest Games committee to take images of active seniors in the Haliburton Highlands community for the marketing purposes of Winterfest 2011. The games are being held here in the Highlands on Febuary 15, 16 & 17. What a great challenge & opportunity to work on my camera skills!
I will be posting images of downhill skiing, ice hockey, curling, badminton, & cross country skiing. I would have loved to have tried taking some photographs of volley ball, table tennis & duplicate bridge.
Check out the link for more information & please come to the highlands & cheer on your favourite sport team!
