Algonquin Park Bull Moose

What an incredible day!

I guided a customer through the amazing & iconic landscape of Algonquin Park last week to search out & photograph the majestic Bull Moose.

We spotted 5 moose that day. Photographed 3 Bulls, 2 of them in the same location & watched from a distance a cow & calf.

Along with a plethora of water fowl, reptiles & amazing Algonquin Park landscape, Kim Emmerson spotted & photographed a Sand Hill Crane with young walking through the tall grasses of the creek we were paddling – apparently, still a rarity to see in the Park.

All in all a very successful day & I can’t wait to get back!

I would love to get out for some fishing - bass fishing before the seasons over...
If I could get out in a canoe or kayak in the next couple weeks alone would be a miracle.

Have lots on my plate in preparation for a couple of art & craft shows in the region - here's hoping for a good season!

Water levels are down in the area - the Highlands are the head waters (top of the water shed) for much southern Ontario & Parks Canada is holding back water to supply the Trent Severn Waterway for the rest of the summer.

I happened to be knee deep in muck for this shot!

I have been out chasing wildlife, but surprisingly I haven't come across much as of late - maybe my luck has run out!

Please help me id both these birds, I've lost my Petersons Guide in the move & it’s late & I'm to lazy to do a search for them online.
