What a beautiful morning! And cold! The misty cold air kept freezing my eyelashes to my cheeks & the snow had this most amazing squeaky crunch sound under my boot. I could of spent all day out there, thanks Erin for the heads up on this location.

Mushing
What an amazing adventure & we are all rooting for you! Safe journey & I can’t wait to hear all the stories when you are back!
CPie
Old & forgotten, this scanned 35mm negative has been filed away for some time; same with the digital file. In Photoshop I did some minor cloning to remove dust spots & scratches & then a curve adjustment to remove the cyan colour cast. I love finding an image that, for some reason was previously passed over.
These magnificent beasts before you are: in lead ‘Spirit’ (copper/white) & ‘Devil’ {I think) (silver/white). Both have bi eyes which is common in the husky bread. In point position you see ‘Chance’ (black/white). He was a brute of a dog – in size only though – very gentle & loved to go for a run.
Get outside & do something fun this winter!

Head Lake Park
Head Lade Park at dusk, in the fall, is a magical & wonderful place. Along with the warm weather & fantastic setting, you have children laughing off in the distance & you can catch snippets of conversation as passer biers leisurely stroll by.
I have numerous images of this scene in different seasons, moods & light - it’s my favourite place to be in the park.

Sheila Ziman
Sheila Ziman draws inspiration from the Haliburton landscape. She gathers rushes, bark and vines from the forests and waters near her home to craft her baskets and shares her extensive knowledge of these natural materials with her students. Sheila is noted for creating unique quillwork designs on birch bark and experimenting in new forms of basket making. Her baskets are exhibited in galleries throughout Ontario and she is a frequent demonstrator at special events. Sheila has great enthusiasm for basket making. "Out in a canoe gathering rushes, then home to make a basket - a wonderful way to enjoy nature and make something beautiful!"
